The PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program is designed to provide "tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to a Scholarship Organization, an Educational Improvement Organization, and/or a Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization" (from "Funding Detail" on www.thenewpa.com).
The Board of Directors of Robinson Township Christian School has approved a plan to generate scholarship funds through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s EITC program. This program allows qualifying corporations to earmark their corporate state tax dollars to scholarship organizations. RTCS is qualified as a scholarship organization for this program through Association of Christian Schools International.
EITC has accomplished what many in Pennsylvania have been advocating for years: a way for the business community to be directly involved in education. EITC enables companies to support local nonprofit charities, at a minimal cost, instead of sending their company tax dollars to Harrisburg. It’s that simple!
The business community has overwhelmingly responded to this opportunity. More than 3,200 companies pledged nearly $350 million to programs all across Pennsylvania.
EITC scholarships have provided a lifeboat to tens of thousands of families looking for the right school for their child.
This is a state tax credit program as well as a federal deduction for your company – it is not a donation or contribution. The EITC program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development.
